Life Line Ambulance History


Life Line Ambulance adds electric cots and three new Sprinter style Ambulances to the fleet.



Life Line Ambulance adds Bagdad to its service area. Station 81 in Bagdad is the company's 11th station. The addition of the town increases the service area to more than 9,000 square miles.

Life Line Ambulance reaches 225 team members.

Life Line Ambulance acquires 1967 Cadillac Fleetwood ambulance. The vehicle makes its debut in the 2008 Wickenburg Gold Rush Days Parade.
2007

Life Line Ambulance has article published in Ambulance Service Journal, a national trade publication produced by the American Ambulance Association.

Life Line Ambulance awarded "Sentinel" Safety Award by the State Compensation Fund.

Life Line Ambulance representatives present at Zoll National Conference for EMS providers with more than 200 EMS professionals. Topic: “Going Beyond Innovation.”

Life Line Ambulance Station 22 completed and opened in North Prescott Valley. This is the 10th station for Life Line.


Life Line Ambulance introduces EMS Bike Team

Life Line Ambulance opens Station 71 in Spring Valley, which provides service to the Spring Valley and Mayer areas. It is the ninth station.

2006

Company reaches 200 team members.


Life Line Ambulance honored by Wickenburg Chamber of Commerce as the Corporate Partner of the Year.

Life Line Ambulance opens Station 61 in Dewey, the company’s eighth station.

Company becomes exclusive emergency medical services provider for Prescott Valley Events Center.

2005

Life Line Ambulance debuts Critical Care Unit; provides services as alternative to helicopter transport.

Life Line Ambulance opens Station 51 in Williams, the company’s seventh in its service area; provides first-responder, Advanced Life Support services to Ashfork, Parks, Seligman, Tusayan, Valle, Williams; increases service area to more than 8,500 square miles.

Life Line hires a full-time training coordinator who provides in-house continuing education credits to advanced and basic life support providers.

2004

With an interagency agreement for long-term lease of Circle City/Morristown fire department, Life Line Ambulance opens Station 42 in Morristown, Ariz. This is station six for the company.

2003

Life Line Ambulance opens Station 41 in Wickenburg, Ariz. the company’s fifth station in its service area. This station provides advanced and basic life support (ALS/BLS) services.

Life Line Ambulance develops and implements a radio system that covers 100 percent of service area, which is more than 6,000 square miles.

Life Line Ambulance amends its certificate of necessity (CON), a document that defines a service area, to include the southern portion of Yavapai and the northwest corner of Maricopa counties, including Wickenburg, Yarnell, Congress, Peeples Valley and Aguila. This expansion increases the CON to 6,000 square miles.

Life Line Ambulance implements new Geographical Information System (GIS), Automated Vehicle Location (AVL) system to shorten response times.

2002

Life Line Ambulance enters into an inter-agency agreement with the City of Prescott to lease Station 12 at Lee Boulevard. This is the company’s fourth station.

1998

Life Line Ambulance awarded “Citizen of the Year” by Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office.

1997

CEO Cheryl Smith becomes sole owner of company.

1995

Life Line Ambulance opens Station 31 in Chino Valley, Ariz.

1992

The American Heart Association appointed Life Line Ambulance as a basic life support (BLS) training center for cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Life Line Ambulance introduces Life Care Membership Plan, a subscription service providing the community with an alternative to the increasing costs of ambulance services.

1991

Life Line Ambulance adds a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system to aide in shortening response times.

1989

Life Line Ambulance opens Day Coach Service and provides affordable, reliable wheelchair and non medical stretcher transportation.

1986

Life Line Ambulance builds administration office and Station 11; move from funeral home location.

1984

Life Line Ambulance opens Station 21 in Prescott Valley.

Life Line Ambulance becomes the first ALS provider in Prescott area.

1982 Life Line Ambulance purchases Med-Evac Ambulance and becomes the sole provider of ambulance services in western Yavapai County.
1978 Life Line Ambulance has three employees.
1956

Life Line Ambulance founded with one ambulance and is affiliated with a funeral home as a side service.
